Ya se dieron a conocer los nominados a los Premios Grammys 2019 y Kendrick Lamar resultó ser el artista más nominado compitiendo por ocho gramófonos, seguido por Drake, quien está presente en siete nominaciones; la cantante Brandi Carlile con seis; y Cardi B, Childish Gambino y H.E.R. con 5 nominaciones.
Según la Academia de la Grabación, 2018 volvió a ser un año repleto de hip hop, allí que los principales exponentes de este género hayan copado las nominaciones más importantes a los venideros Premios Grammys 2019.
La banda sonora de la cinta Black Panther le otorgó la posibilidad a Lamar de ser el mayor nominado de esta entrega, mientras que Scorpion, el álbum más escuchado en plataformas digitales otorgó a Drake siete nominaciones al anhelado gramófono.
La gran sorpresa de las nominaciones fue la cantante Brandi Carlile, quien gracias a su sexto disco, By the way, I forgive you, se hizo acreedora de seis nominaciones.
Invasion of Privacy, el debut discográfico de Cardi B, le valió estar presente en cinco categorías, mientras que el tema This is America, también le otorgó a Childish Gambino la posibilidad de competir con nominaciones.
