Open Culture recientemente reveló una lista que hizo Bowie para Vanity Fair en 2003, que incluye 25 discos extraídos de la colección de viniles de The Thin White Duke, la cual para ese entonces era de más de 2500 LP, que según el influyente músico, podrían “cambiar tu reputación”.
La lista incluye algunas piezas de spoken word (The Last Poets de The Last Poets, 1970), música clásica (Gundula Janowitz interpretando las últimas cuatro composiciones de Strauss), un clásico del rock (The Velvet Underground & Nico de The Velvet Underground), folk psicodélico (The 5000 Spirits of the Layers of the Onion de The Incredible String Band) y mucho más.
